2015 Fiske Best Colleges[/caption]For the 11th time, Elon University has been named a “best buy” in one of the most influential guides to helping students and families identify schools recognized for the quality of their academic offerings in relation to the cost of attendance.
Elon is joined by Warren Wilson College as the only two private North Carolina schools recognized in the 2015 Fiske Guide to Colleges. All “best buy” schools fall into the inexpensive or moderate price category, and most have four- or five-star academics ratings.
The Fiske Guide identified the “best and most interesting” colleges and universities out of the nation’s 2,200 four-year schools. Among public universities, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Asheville received recognition on the 2015 “best buy” list.
Edited by Edward B. Fiske, former education editor for The New York Times, the annual guide has been published since 1982, selecting top schools from around the country based on academic ratings, price category, quality of student life on campus and other factors.
