Thursday, July 31, from 12-1:15 p.m., in the Center for the Arts Isabella Cannon Room
The Office of Leadership & Professional Development, in collaboration with Jeffrey Coker and the Common Reading Program, is sponsoring a luncheon to discuss this fascinating book. A unique food buffet will be provided for those who register before July 24.
The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer book is a compelling narrative that connects with themes of global engagement, innovation, personal initiative, experimentation, diversity (Africa), sustainable development, alternative energy, food systems, and the power of TED. Most striking is the thought process that allowed William to create devices from junk – a thoughtful, relentless process of experimentation and creativity.
