Homecoming gives alumni of all eras opportunities to celebrate Elon

Make plans to return to Elon University from Oct. 17-19 for Homecoming 2014, a weekend of events that include football, tailgating, alumni award ceremonies and service activities.

Here is a snapshot of the events being planned for the weekend:

Friday, Oct. 17

Alumni Career Development Support
Noon–5 p.m. » Student Professional Development Center, Moseley Center

Whether you are in the middle of a job search or just looking to revamp your resume, the Student Professional Development Center staff is here to help! Attend a job search workshop, LinkedIn session or resume critique. Open to all alumni.

2014 Homecoming Opening Ceremony
6–8 p.m. » Lakeside Meeting Rooms, Moseley Center

Join us as we officially kick off the weekend by coming together to recognize the growth and future of our institution. During the event, the winners of the 2014 Elon Alumni Awards—Gail Hettel LaRose ’64, Mike Riccio ’85, TJ Reynolds-Emwanta ’01, Kim Hayes ’05, the Rev. Erin M. Keys ’05, David L. Morrow II ’07 L’10, Tim Johnson ’09 and Max Cantor ’10—will be recognized by President Leo M. Lambert. Reunion class and affinity committees and volunteers will also be celebrated. You don’t want to miss it!

Saturday, Oct. 18

Habitat for Humanity Build
8:30–11:30 a.m. » Station at Mill Point

Participate in a slice of service for the weekend and give back to the Elon community by participating in this build.

Tailgating
11 a.m.–1 p.m. » Lake Mary Nell pathway, unless otherwise denoted

Whether you’re tailgating as part of a reunion or with your own group of alumni friends, don’t miss this one-of-a-kind game-day celebration experience.

Elon vs. Stony Brook Football Game
1:30 p.m. » Rhodes Stadium

The Phoenix begins a new era of competition this season in the Colonial Athletic Association, and Elon welcomes league foe Stony Brook for its first Homecoming in the new conference. Under first-year head coach Rich Skrosky, Elon brings a new and exciting style of play to the field every Saturday. All fans are encouraged to tailgate prior to the game in the various lots near Rhodes Stadium. As always, remember to wear maroon and show how you #LTML. Tickets: $20 per person for general seating. To sit with your decade or affinity group, please indicate your seating preference on the online registration form.

Sunday, Oct. 19

Alumni Memorial Service
Join us as we honor deceased members of the Elon community through special memorial prayers and prayers of thanksgiving.
