Even in the last few seconds of the game, the Elon Women's Club Lacrosse team had an intense match against High Point University.
With a final score of 5-6, High Point came out on top. The Elon team still played a great game; captain London Vaughn led the team with two goals, followed by first-year students Issy Smith, Sarah Bennett, and Emmy Fay, each with one.
On the other end of the field, the defense was led by Jordan Grover with two interceptions and junior Grace Hanlon with several forced turnovers and groundball recoveries. In goal, sophomore Josie Hungerbuhler had 11 astonishing saves followed by successful clears to the midfield that kept up the momentum and transitions. Despite the final score, EWCL played with a high intensity and phenomenal communication. The team is very eager to kick off our stretch of away games following fall break, starting with Duke University.
