Held in Honolulu, Jan. 9-14, Cornelius presented a lecture-recital entitled “A Guide to Performance Practice of Sonnets from the Portuguese by prolific American composer, Libby Larsen (b. 1950).”
Thorough study and preparation of the poetry by Elizabeth Barrett Browning, as well as understanding the compositional process of the composer, contribute to a scholarly and artistic performance of these complex art songs.
