The assistant professor of education presented on the Edcamp model of professional learning and digital backchanneling at the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development Annual Conference in Houston, Texas, from March 21-23.
Assistant Professor Jeffrey Carpenter and colleagues Dorie Glynn of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, Dan Krutka of Texas Woman’s University, and Bethany Smith of North Carolina State University conducted an interactive presentation titled “The Power of the Unconference: Unleashing the Potential in an Edcamp.”
Carpenter also collaborated with colleagues Ben Allen and Thomas Warren of the Albemarle County Public Schools to present a session titled “Increase Collaboration, Engagement, and Feedback via the Backchannel.” ASCD’s Annual Conference attracts more than 10,000 attendees.
