The student-run communications agency is looking for qualified students with business, marketing, web development, art, design or video backgrounds.
Live Oak Communications, Elon University’s student-run, full-service communications agency, is currently seeking qualified applicants for fall 2015. Live Oak develops and executes communications programs for businesses and not-for-profit organizations in and around North Carolina.
The agency has a particular interest in students with business, marketing, web development, art, design or video backgrounds, as well as individuals with communications expertise. Students may apply by filling out an application at www.liveoakcommunications and submitting it by Friday, April 24.
“Live Oak provides experiences and opportunities that are very difficult to find in a classroom,” said Tim Gillman ’15, Live Oak’s agency director. “The chance to work so closely with real clients provides an outlet to apply theories learned in the classroom and develop a better understanding of what it means to be an effective communications professional.”
The agency offers public relations, advertising, special event marketing, viral marketing, media relations, website development, video creation and graphic design services to its clients. Students from all majors and years are encouraged to apply for specific positions. All hired positions receive class credit in addition to professional experience.
“Live Oak creates great opportunities for working on real-world communications campaigns, engaging with the local business community, and preparing students for professional internships and jobs,” said Marisa Moody ’15, Live Oak’s creative director. “This has without a doubt been the most energizing and fulfilling experience of my college career. It has created a productive application for a passion and clarity as to the direction of my post-grad goals.”
Thinking about applying to work with Live Oak and want to know where to start? Consider applying to one of the agency’s entry-level positions as an account executive or creative content producer, and don’t hesitate to contact management.liveoak@gmail.com for additional information. Live Oak staff members encourage interested applicants to get in contact to discuss the best ways to get involved and gain real client experience with the agency.
The director and assistant director will conduct interviews in late April.
