Percussion Ensemble concert, April 13

Graduating seniors have a prominent role in the Elon Percussion Ensemble’s spring concert, scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 13 in Yeager Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

Compositions by seniors Kevin Haines and John Rahilly are on the program, while arrangements of Frank Zappa’s “Peaches in Regalia” and material from the Dave Mathews Band are planned as well.

Also featured will be a new piece by Jon Metzger, assistant professor of music. “Black Elk Speaks” is a mixed media, four-part work that is inspired by the native American Indian Black Elk. The composition features the ensemble together with instantaneous sound wave video enhancement provided by J. McMerty, senior video producer, and Bryan Baker, senior audio producer.
