Martha Thomas, piano
Whitley Auditorium, 7:30 p.m.
The professor of piano at the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music has been praised for the “lyrical beauty of her playing” and “her mastery of rhythmic and textural complexities.” The program will include music from her latest recording featuring the Romantic Era composer Max Reger. Considered one of the outstanding German keyboard composers of the late 19th century, Reger has a large output of piano compositions and was highly influenced by the music of Schumann and Brahms, among others.
