Fungaroli, Wilhelmenia Jordan and Jonathan Warren worked with Janet’s Crafts in Burlington to write a formal report about the company’s business model and practices. The students also presented the report during a formal presentation to contest judges who represent the competition’s sponsoring companies: SBTDC, RSM McGladrey and Wachovia Bank.

The competition is open to all MBA programs in North Carolina, but only two teams may represent any one school. Elon entered two teams in this year’s competition; Michael Hazel and Josh Boone worked with Williams Life Services of Durham. This is the sixth consecutive year that an Elon team has placed in the top three in the competition. During that same time, no other school has placed a team more than two years in a row.

In Elon’s MBA program, all students work with actual companies in the final class, MBA 555, taught by David Noer, professor of business administration. While students are not required to participate in the case competition, this year, four teams elected to compete for the two Elon slots.
