Elon students and faculty were inducted into the university’s new chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma during a ceremony May 4. The international honor society recognizes achievement by business students at schools accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Colleges and Schools of Business.
Dr. Quiester Craig, dean of the business school at North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, welcomed the new Elon chapter into Beta Gamma Sigma.
“Excellence is sometimes a moving target,” said Craig, a past president of Beta Gamma Sigma and a member of the society’s board of directors. “But if you have people on the move, you can achieve it. I would like to congratulate all of you on a remarkable achievement.”
Craig presented a framed certificate marking the occasion to John Burbridge, dean of Elon’s Martha and Spencer Love School of Business.
Beta Gamma Sigma encourages and honors academic achievement in the study of business, and personal and professional excellence in the practice of business. More than 500,000 people, many of whom occupy key management and leadership positions in a variety of global industries, have accepted membership in Beta Gamma Sigma.
