Elon students traveled to Durham, N.C., to network with 40 of the fastest growing companies in the Triangle Area.
In October, 13 Elon students joined students from Duke University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina State University and North Carolina Central University at College Night at the American Underground, a Google for Entrepreneurs Tech-Hub home to 200-plus start-ups.
The students had the opportunity to connect with possible internship opportunities and learn more about local start-ups in an impressive innovative space in Downtown Durham. “It was fulfilling to see actual start-ups use the concepts taught in Elon’s Department of Entrepreneurship to create innovative products within a cutting-edge tech hub,” said Austin Pederson, a senior entrepreneurship major.
Another beneficial aspect of the event was the chance to network with local entrepreneurs, as well as students from four other colleges.
“This event was a great way to not only network with companies, but also with other college students with similar interests as myself,” said Kristina Grigos, a first-year management major. “It was great to listen to other people’s ideas and share my own.”
