Morgan to attend national faculty seminar

Betty Morgan, associate professor of political science and public administration, has been named a faculty fellow at the Aspen Institute’s 2004 Wye Faculty Seminar in Queensboro, Md., July 24-30.

Morgan and other scholars from across the nation will examine how a variety of teaching methods address important issues of citizenship. Through roundtable discussions and seminars, faculty fellows share the ideas and values that form the basis of their teaching, while learning new ways to approach topics such as democracy and citizenship, international peace and security and community initiatives for children and families.

The Aspen Institute uses a competitive merit selection process to choose faculty fellows from nominations submitted by university presidents and deans. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the institute is an international organization that works to develop enlightened leadership and open-minded dialogue on contemporary issues.
