The fabric art of Carolyn Nelson, associate director of university relations for design, will be part of a two-person exhibition Aug. 22- Sept. 22 at the Preservation Society of Chapel Hill’s Horace Williams House. A reception for Nelson and pottery artist Michele Natale will be 2- 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 22.
Nelson’s works, titled “Threads,” include about 15 pieces that she has produced over the past two years. They include layered hand-dyed silks and linens, papers and metals stitched into textures, lines and forms.
The Horace Wilson House is located at 610 East Rosemary St., Chapel Hill. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and 1 – 4 p.m. Sunday.
