In addition, he is the creator and host of “Art Beat”, the program’s popular online arts and culture blog. His work as correspondent and producer has garnered an Emmy, six Cine Golden Eagle Awards, and other honors. Prior to joining the “NewsHour”, Brown helped produce numerous public television series for Media & Society Seminars, an independent production company headed by Fred W. Friendly. His book “The News” was released in 2015.
He attended the University of California, Berkeley (B.A., Classics), the UC Berkeley School of Law, and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism (M.S.).
