Associate Professors of Statistics Laura Taylor and Kirsten Doehler publish article on faculty perceptions of statistics

The paper introduces a new scale to measure faculty attitudes and perceptions related to the statistics discipline.

Laura Taylor and Kirsten Doehler, associate professors of statistics, recently published “The Development and Factor Structure of the Faculty Perceptions of Statistics (FPS) Scale” in the International Journal of Learning, Teaching and Educational Research with collaborator Jessalyn Smith.

The paper introduces a new scale to measure faculty attitudes and perceptions related to the statistics discipline. Overall sum scores and sum scores for each of the seven subscales are examined based on numerous demographic characteristics such as academic discipline, position, and type of institution. This research paper is the fifth peer-reviewed publication that Doehler and Taylor have published together.
