Earth Week Events will be happeining daily April 19 - 23.
Earth Day is April 22 and during the week leading up to it, there are multiple fun and informative events for celebrating, learning about and contributing to a healthier planet and people.
The week kicks off with founding President of the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions, formerly the Pew Center on Global Climate Change, Eileen Claussen, speaking about ‘Tackling Climate Change’. The talk will be in McKinnon on April 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Claussen’s lecture is informed by her extensive experience working nationally and internationally with government and business through her roles as Senior Director at the National Security Council, EPA, and Assistant Secretary of State.
The final activity is ‘Party for the Planet’ on Earth Day, April 22. This Eco-Rep coordinated event features live entertainment from Elon groups and brings together nearly 20 student organizations who all have ties to at least one component of sustainability. ‘Party for the Planet’ is at speakers Corner from 3:00p.m. – 6:00p.m., April 22.
