Aaron Trocki, assistant professor of mathematics, presents original research and receives award at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Research Conference in San Francisco April 11-14, 2016.
Aaron Trocki was an invited speaker for a session titled, “Writing for NCTM Journals: Publishing Your Research in Teacher-Friendly Articles.” He shared his insights on the process he used to adapt research findings into a practitioner article.
He and his writing team won the award, Linking Research and Practice: Outstanding Publication 2015-2016, for their article, “Launching a Discourse-Rich Mathematics Lesson.” He was recognized at the plenary session on the last day of the research conference.
Furthermore, his ongoing research on a dynamic geometry task analysis framework was shared with conference participants at Wednesday’s poster session. It highlighted research he has documented regarding teacher use of his framework.
