Support the Local Food Bank
For the past two years, staff have helped contribute over 3,500 pounds of canned food during Staff Appreciation Day to support Allied Churches of Alamance County. The residents of Alamance County have benefited from this generosity. To continue this giving tradition, we are asking each of staff member to bring a can of food. Those who bring canned food will be entered into a drawing for a vacation day! Two winners will be chosen.
Allied Churches has indicated that the food items most needed include: Breakfast Items (cereal, oatmeal, grits, granola bars), canned fruit (including single serving size), applesauce (single serving size), pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned meats, rice, beans (any kind), peanut butter and jelly.
While Allied Churches has indicated that the items above are most needed, they will gladly accept canned food donation so check your pantry and help Elon support the good work of this organization.
Note: If you prefer to make a monetary contribution, make checks payable to Allied Churches of Alamance County. Write “Elon Staff Day food drive” on the memo line. For every $1 that is donated, seven pounds of food will be purchased at the Harvest Food Bank.
As a reminder, offices are generally closed on Staff Day, however staff who are scheduled for a vacation day on Friday, May 27, are required to record the entire day as vacation. Gifts will be awarded to all staff members in attendance.
