Commencement 2016 concluded with the traditional charge by President Leo M. Lambert to the graduates.
Elon University President Leo M. Lambert congratulated members of the Class of 2016 at Commencement on May 21, a day he called “the most hopeful and optimistic day of the year at Elon, because we give the world a great gift of 1,334 young men and women who possess the education, talent and ambition to make a profound difference.”
President Lambert reminded graduates that they have the power to help those who enjoy many fewer privileges. “Use that power in a spirit of generosity and compassion, because that is what Elon people do,” Lambert said.
