Charles Cooper ’01 of Cincinnati, Ohio, has been named MetLife Premier Client Group’s 2015 Managing Sales Director of the Year. The award is the highest honor a managing sales director or managing associate can receive and is based on sales, productivity and profitability.

“Charles has played a significant role in my career by providing me with the tools and resources I needed to succeed,” said Robert McNichol, who works with Cooper at MetLife. “I’ve worked with many managers over the years and no one has the type of focus and commitment Coop brings to his advisors. It’s great to see him recognized for all his contributions.”

Cooper began his career with MetLife six years ago and today serves as a coach and mentor, sharing his extensive knowledge and experience assisting individuals, families and business owners with their financial goals.

Cooper graduated from Elon University in 2001 with a bachelor of fine arts in musical theatre, cum laude. He also serves as a member of the Elon Alumni Board, which engages with the Office of Alumni Engagement and other senior administrators to represent the alumni body to the university on a range of important issues.

“Charles exemplifies what it means to be an Elon partner, advocate and investor,” said Brian Feeley ’03, Elon’s director of alumni engagement. “Not only does he volunteer his time, but he has also created the Charles E. Cooper ’01 Music Theatre Scholarship with his wife, Casondra. The scholarship benefits students following their passion as musical theatre majors, which Charles cared about deeply while attending Elon.”

A 12-year resident of Cincinnati, Cooper lives with his wife Casondra and children CJ, Christin, Austin and Noah. He is a classically-trained lyric tenor and enjoys golf, cooking and travel.
