The Burlington Times-News and WPCM radio will host a local political forum on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. in the Paramount Theater located at 128 Front St. in Burlington.
The forum will focus on the 24 District N.C. Senate race featuring incumbent Rick Gunn, R-Alamance, and Democrat John Thorpe.
At approximately 7:10 p.m., the event will continue with candidates in the two races for the Alamance County Board of Commissioners. One group of candidates is seeking three available four-year seats. Incumbent Republican Eddie Boswell will be joined by Republicans Tim Sutton and Bill Lashley and Democrats Wayne Beam and Tom Gamble. Current commissioners David Smith and Linda Massey are not seeking re-election. Also in the forum will be candidates for the two-year seat to fill the unexpired term of Dan Ingle who retired from the board this year. They are Democrat Kendal McBroom and Republican Amy Galey.
The forum moderator will incorporate questions selected by WPCM and the Burlington Times-News and written questions from the audience. Candidates will have time at the end for final remarks.
