Communications Professor Ben Hannam's book, "A Graphic Design Student's Guide to Freelance: Practice Makes Perfect," has been translated and published in simple Chinese.
Ben Hannam, an award-winning designer, educator, author and associate professor of communications at Elon, recently learned that his 2012 book was translated and published in simple Chinese.
Hannam published the book, “A Graphic Design Student’s Guide to Freelance: Practice Makes Perfect,” with John Wiley & Sons. “I was surprised to receive this news, but I couldn’t be happier,” Hannam said. “I feel like my publisher has continued to support my efforts and I hope to publish a second book I’ve been working on soon.”
Hannam has been teaching his communication design students that creative solutions to everyday problems reinforce the value of graphic design and help make the world a better place. Combined with his love of teaching and desire to empower students it’s no surprise that his second book tentatively titled, “Oh @#$% I’m Graduating! A Student’s Guide to Creating a Killer Portfolio” continues to help equip students with the skills they need to succeed in the graphic design profession.
