Thursday, Oct. 20, is the National Day on Writing and educational institutions across the country will participate in highlighting the importance of writing in our lives.
The Center for Writing Excellence will sponsor multiple writing-related events across campus. Students, staff and faculty can win great prizes by participating in person and on the CWE’s Facebook page and Twitter feed by using the hashtags #WhyIWrite and #ELONwrites.
Faculty and staff are invited to share the flyer to the left with interested students and encourage participation. All student participants are eligible to win one of six writing-related prize packs, and there will be one grand prize winner randomly selected to win an iPad!
We also invite faculty and staff to participate in our on-line writing prompt. Tell us, in Mad-Libs form, why – and how – you write! The prompt will be open through the end of the day on Oct. 20. One winner will be randomly chosen to win a writing-related prize pack, including an Oak House gift card.
The Curriculum Resources Center is also hosting a National Day on Writing event in Mooney 111. Please see the flyer to the left and our Facebook page for more information about all the events across campus.
