The cable television network's bus that is traveling the nation will stop on the Elon campus for tours and voter interviews. All are invited to visit the bus.
The C-SPAN Campaign 2016 Bus will make a stop on the Elon campus from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. The bus will be open to the public and parked in the lot adjacent to Belk Library on North O’Kelly Avenue.
The C-SPAN Bus visits schools, universities, and political events across the country to engage students, educators, civic leaders, and the community through on-board multimedia technology that showcases C-SPAN’s programming and resources dedicated to showing the American political process.
Through interactive exhibits, visitors will learn about the public affairs network’s in-depth coverage of the U.S. Congress, White House, federal courts, and its signature political program, “Road to the White House,” which provides access to all of the Campaign 2016 presidential candidates and their events from the campaign trail, all without editing, commentary, or analysis.
C-SPAN representatives will also gather on-camera visitor responses on this year’s election to share via social media as part of its C-SPAN “Voices from the Road.” (#cspanvoices)
Aboard the C-SPAN Bus, visitors will learn about the following programming and resources via HD-TVs, touch screen computers, laptops, and mobile devices:
- C-SPAN’s in-depth public affairs event coverage
- C-SPAN’s web offerings, including over 218,000 hours of archived video going back to 1987 through C-SPAN’s vast Video Library and Congressional Chronicle
- Ways to connect with C-SPAN including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and mobile apps
- Interactive quizzes to test your knowledge about the political process
