Pianist Ian Hobson will perform at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12 in Whitley Auditorium, located on the Elon University campus. Hobson’s performance is part of the Adams Foundation Piano Recital Series and is sponsored by the Times-News & Elon University.
Hobson has built an international career as a pianist, conductor and teacher since winning first prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 1981. His repertoire spans centuries and demonstrates a command of styles and keyboard prowess. Hobson has produced more than 35 recordings for various labels, including his own recently founded label, Zephyr. His Elon performance will include Beethoven Opus 10, No. 2, as well as pieces by Chopin and Rachmaninoff.
Tickets are available for $15 or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
