Elon faculty, staff to share insights during 'Beyond the Transcript' event

The two-day event is part of the Comprehensive Student Record Project that is a partnership between the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and NASPA with funding from the Lumina Foundation. 

Elon University will be sharing its innovative approach to transforming the traditional student transcript during a two-day event in Indianapolis, Indiana, that’s part of the Comprehensive Student Record Project.

Participating in “Beyond the Transcript – Capturing Learning Wherever It Occurs” are Elon Registrar Rodney Parks, Assistant Provost Paul Miller, who is also a professor of exercise science, Programmer and Analyst Julie White and Jack Fryer ’19.

The “convening” event held Nov. 28-29 will feature livestreaming sessions and Twitter chats focusing on the lessons that a variety of colleges and universities have learned as they rethink the transcript. Parks is part of an opening panel on Nov. 28 beginning at 12:45 p.m. that will offer an introduction to new comprehensive student record models. The event will also feature live Twitter chats on Tuesday, Nov. 29. An hour-long chat titled “What Do Employers Want” will begin at 10:30 a.m. and another hour-long chat titled “Facilitating Mobility and Transfer Between Education Providers” will begin at 1:30 p.m. AACRAO will be hosting the chat — follow the #BeyondTranscript hashtag to join.
