Alum and Peace Corps volunteer to speak – Feb. 14

Spend an evening with Erin Lawless '03, the deputy chief of programming and evaluation in the Office of Overseas Programming and Training Support at the Peace Corps.

The Peace Corps Prep Program at Elon is sponsoring the return of Erin Lawless ’03 to campus on Tuesday, February 14. She will have a discussion with students and the Elon community from 7 to 8 p.m. in Mckinnon Hall, Moseley Center.

During her service, she founded Hope of the Generation Uganda (HOGU), a small nonprofit organization that uses creative education methods for the prevention of HIV/AIDS and works to uplift vulnerable children and youth in rural Uganda.

Before Lawless’ current role as deputy chief of programming and evaluation with the Peace Corps, she spent four years at Rebuilding Together preserving affordable housing for low-income families, as well as leading Partnerships and Operations at Atlas Corps.

Lawless will share her experiences through stories, insights and advice as an Elon alum and successful global change agent. To learn more about the Peace Corps Prep Program, please visit www.elon.edu/peacecorps.
