Elon's Piano Extravaganza Concert was featured on the cover of Steinway Piano's magazine
Steinway Piano’s Chronicle magazine featured the Elon University Department of Music in their Winter 2016 issue.
Steinway executives attended the Piano Extravaganza Concert held in Whitley Auditorium at the conclusion of Celebrate! Week in spring 2016 and were so impressed that decided to feature it on the cover of the magazine. The article referenced not only the participants, including faculty, students and alumni, but also quoted department chair Jon Metzger, head of piano performance Victoria Fischer Faw and alumna Eden Esters Brown. Other alumni featured in the concert included Katherine Thomas and Patrick Bachmann. Faculty included Metzger, Fischer, Sharon LaRocco, chair of the department’s piano committee, Ken Lee, Julie Celona Vangorden and Virginia Novine-Whittaker, among others.
