Students experienced professional development advice and networking opportunities with alumni
Alumni volunteers of the Altanta Alumni Chapter board had the opportunity to meet and network with sophomore students of the Odyssey Program on Jan. 25 during the group's visit to Atlanta.
The Odyssey Program, which is part of the Center for Access and Success, is a highly selective, merit-based program consisting of talented individuals who are academically strong, civically engaged, action-oriented leaders in their communities, who will benefit from an Elon education and demonstrate financial need.
Led by Esther Freeman and Marcus Elliott, co-directors of the Odyssey Program, the trip included 24 sophomores in the Odyssey Program and sought to help them develop professional skills, learn about real-life career experiences, and network with professionals and alumni. While in Atlanta, the student group visited reprepresentatives of BB&T, CNN, the Laten American Association, Fox Theater and the Georgia Aquarium.
While the students had the opportunity to meet with alumni, Alex Walton '10, an activation lead, and Raymond Wright '06, a post-production producer, spoke and informed the students about their careers and the industry.
The Atlanta alumni were delighted to welcome the students to their city.
