Associate Professor of Religious Studies Pamela Winfield was selected for roles with the Society for the Study of Japanese Religions (SSJR) and the American Academy of Religion.
Associate Professor of Religious Studies Pamela Winfield was elected to two major professional leadership positions this semester.
In April, she was elected President of the Society for the Study of Japanese Religions (SSJR), which organizes two annual panels at the American Academy of Religion (AAR) and the Association of Asian Studies (AAS) conferences every year.
In addition, she was named Co-Chair of the Arts, Literature and Religion Section of the American Academy of Religion, where she is responsible for organizing seven to eight panels annually. These positions also carry administrative duties as well. Winfield has also been nominated to serve on the Northeast Asian Council of the Association of Asian Studies.
