This year’s class included a record-setting number of outstanding student scholars – Spanish majors and minors who met the national requirements for membership based on advanced study of the language, GPA in Spanish courses and overall GPA.
Student officers Alexandra Gaither, Cal Dougherty, Erin Moirano and Benton Ashe presided over the ceremony. Faculty members from the Spanish section Ricardo Mendoza (also Sigma Delta Pi faculty sponsor) and Mayte de Lama recited poetry, and musical accompaniment was provided by Oscar Oviedo. Other faculty members from the Spanish section awarded honor cords to graduating seniors.
The guests and new inductees enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner following the ceremony.
