Futrell's edition of a 19th-Century Russian piece will be published with Fred Bock Music.
Director of Choral Activities Stephen A. Futrell completed modern editions of three pieces by Russian composer Anton Arensky (1861-1906). The three pieces appear in a collection, Opus 57.
The first piece, “Serenada,” is now in publication as part of the Greg Gentry Choral Series as a National Publications imprint, which is produced by Fred Bock Music in California. The Fred Bock catalog is distributed by Hal Leonard, one of the largest sheet music distributors in the world. Each of the remaining individual pieces will be published separately during Spring 2019.
The part songs are for SATB mixed choir with cello accompaniment. “Serenada” has been selected to appear as part of the new music reading session for the Texas Music Educators Conference this Spring.
