The New York City alumni chapter held its third service outing of the academic year on Feb. 23.
On Feb. 23, a group of alumni based in the Big Apple and surrounding areas came together in the morning hours to volunteer at The Bowery Mission.
The group helped prepare lunch service for the Bowery Mission, which is located in the Lower East Side. The Bowery Mission has been feeding and helping men, women, and children caught in the cycles of poverty, homelessness, and dependencies since 1879. The Elon volunteers helped organize the food pantry, sort and prepare food, and assist in loading and unloading deliveries.
With this service outing, the NYC Alumni Chapter has experienced its third service opportunity of the Elon academic year. These service events have been organized by Andrew Bronsteen '13, who serves on the NYC Alumni Chapter board as the Chair of Philanthropy and Community Engagement.
The alumni who participated: Leigh Burgess, Kanree Wright, Saige Subick, Beatrice Copeland, Emily Weisberg, Andrew Bronsteen, and friends, Jillian Ternosky and Sam Rubin.
