The 6th Annual Elon BrainCARE Symposium will educate the Elon community about issues related to concussions and concussion management in student-athletes. In honor of International Women’s Day, this symposium is dedicated to featuring top women scholars and practitioners doing the science and management of sport concussions and related issues in this important field.
SCHEDULE
Concussion management session (12:30 – 2:00 pm): Moderator: Lauren Brown, a BrainCARE, Exercise Science and Women’s Basketball Alum. Completing her MS at University of Georgia. Lauren has been accepted to Medical School at Medical College of Georgia for Fall 2019 and serves as Elon’s Young Board of Trustee.

Student Posters (2:00- 2:30 pm): Women scientists in training from Elon University, Wake Forest University, UNC-Chapel Hill, NC A&T, and UNC-Greensboro will present their work on concussion science and management
Science of Concussion Session (2:30 – 4 pm):
Moderator: Kelsey Evans, M.S. , a BrainCARE, Exercise Science and Women’s Basketball Alum. She completed in MS in Exercise Science at Georgia Southern and is a 3rd Year Medical Student at Brody School of Medicine at ECU.
