Bowman’s poster addressed how small archives, which typically have limited resources, can use exhibits to educate the public about local or underrepresented history.
The poster, titled “Archives and Exhibits: Things to Consider When Mounting an Exhibit in a Small Archive,” explored important factors to consider when creating an exhibit of archival materials. Bowman also shared lessons learned during the creation and mounting of the fall 2018 exhibit “Elon College and the First World War, 1914-1919” that coincided with the recent centennial of the end of World War I.
Randall Bowman, archivist, presented the poster at the Society of North Carolina Archivists 2019 Annual Conference in Wilmington, NC March 14-15, 2019.
