Shouze Ma to serve residency at University of Alabama

Shouze Ma, assistant professor of performing arts and director of the dance program, will serve a one-week residency at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Feb. 20-26. Ma will present his new solo work, “Connections” at Alabama’s annual dance concert.

The University of Alabama dance program is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD) and is the only dance program in the state of Alabama to be accredited. UA is host to one of the American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive programs and the Rockette’s workshop. Alabama’s dance program is also a contributing member of the American College Dance Festival Association (ACDFA).

The University of Alabama was selected by the American Ballet Theatre to host the first satellite program outside New York City for its Summer Ballet Intensive in 1997. Almost 200 of America’s most talented dancers, representing 30 states, Bermuda and Puerto Rico, were in attendance.
