The deadline for members of the Class of 2019 to pick up guest tickets for the two Diploma Ceremonies in Schar Center is Tuesday, May 14, at 5 p.m.
Tickets to the Diploma Ceremonies may be picked up in person with a Phoenix Card or official photo ID at the Schar Center Box Office, which is open Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. It is each graduate’s responsibility to pick up tickets for their guests. Graduates who are not returning to campus prior to graduation and who completed the ticket reservation form can email commencement@elon.edu to arrange for tickets to be in hand prior to Friday, May 24.
Elon Commencement 2019 will feature changes to the program to better accommodate students and their families, with the undergraduate ceremonies previously held on Saturday shifted to Friday.
Undergraduate Commencement exercises start this year with an outdoor ceremony on Scott Plaza that begins at 8:45 a.m. This university-wide event for all graduates, families and guests will include a message from the class president, the Commencement address and the president’s charge to graduates. Tickets are not required for this ceremony and there is no limit to the number of guests who may attend.
Following this outdoor ceremony, there will be two separate diploma-awarding ceremonies for the Class of 2019 held in Schar Center. Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the School of Education will award diplomas at the 11:30 a.m. ceremony. The Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and the School of Communications will award diplomas at the 3:30 p.m. ceremony. Tickets are required for these ceremonies, and each ceremony will last about two hours.
All commencement ceremonies will be shown as they occur on the university website at www.elon.edu/live. Guests without tickets to the Diploma Ceremonies in Schar Center can watch a live broadcast of those ceremonies in Alumni Gym, Moseley Center, the Lakeside Dining Hall meeting rooms and The Great Hall in Global Commons.
