The associate professor of management spoke to analytics professionals during the Triangle Area Analytics Group hosted by Alliance of Professionals & Consultants and RTI International.
Haya Ajjan, associate professor of management information systems in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and director of Elon’s Center for Organizational Analytics, served as a panelist for the Triangle Area Analytics Group (TAAG) May meeting focused on shaping the education of analytics professionals.
Ajjan shared how Elon’s business analytics, media analytics and M.S. in Management (organizational analytics concentration) programs are structured and how faculty members work with partners to bring analytics experiences into the classroom, as well as insights into the skills students learn in these programs.
Sponsored by the Alliance of Professionals & Consultants (APC) and RTI International, the faculty panel included Dan McGurrin, NC State University, Jeremy Petranka, Duke University, and Manju Shah, Wake Technical Community College, and was moderated by Harold Zeishner, senior business development manager at APC.
Panelists also heard from audience members on qualities employers look for in recent graduates and skill gaps that could be filled through curriculum innovations.
