Senior Gary Morris, an infielder on the Phoenix baseball team, was named the TIAA-CREF Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 13.
Morris led Elon to a 4-0 record during the week, including a 10-3 win over 6th-ranked North Carolina April 6. For the week, Morris hit .474 with 3 doubles, a triple, a home run and 7 RBI. He leads Elon in doubles with 12 this season, starting all 35 games. He is hitting .304 with 23 RBI. The Phoenix are 21-14 and 11-7 in the Southern Conference.
Academically, Morris excels in his environmental studies major with a 3.67 GPA.
