Rich Blomquist, a 2000 graduate of the School of Communications, won a third Emmy Award as part of the writing team for Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.” Blomquist and the rest of the team won the 2005 Emmy in the category of Outstanding Writing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Program.
It is the third Emmy for Blomquist and the rest of The Daily Show writing team. The group won Emmys in the same category in 2003 and 2004.
The 57th Annual Emmy Awards were broadcast on Sunday, Sept. 18. Blomquist, Stewart and other members of the writing team accepted their awards on stage.
Other nominees included “Late Night With Conan O’Brien,” “Late Show With David Letterman,” “Real Time With Bill Maher” and “Da Ali G Show.”
Blomquist joined the writing team at “The Daily Show” in 2003 and was also one of the authors of “America (The Book): A Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction,” a New York Times best seller.
