Academic achievements, cultural programs, athletic accomplishments and plenty of new experiences for students, faculty, staff, parents and families filled 2019 at Elon University.
The year saw undergraduate and graduate students conclude their academic careers at Elon, and the Class of 2023 begin a new journey at the university. The university hosted speakers including former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, legal scholar and advocate Anita Hill, former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley. Student-athletes excelled on the field and courts, with the women’s cross country team and men’s tennis team both bringing home conference titles.
The university launched the public phase of its Elon LEADS campaign with events on campus and around the country, and scores of alumni and family members came to campus for Homecoming and Family Weekend.
These are just a few of the highlights from the year. Here’s to what was a great 2019, and to what promises to be an even better 2020!
