The Student Professional Development Center helps students make connections with employers virtually

Employers are eager to meet Elon University students during virtual career fairs and networking events this Fall.

The Student Professional Development Center kicks off its virtual career fairs and networking events this week. Beginning with the Accounting and Finance Virtual Career Fair and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion event.

As the semester progresses, there will be five more virtual career fairs offered, allowing students from a variety of majors to create connections and ask questions to companies in the industry they want to explore upon graduation. These career fairs include Communications, Sales and Business, Social Impact, STEM, as well as an internship career fair with employers like Wayfair and The North Carolina Museum of Natural Science.

The career fairs will run for three hours on Wednesdays and allow students to connect with potential employers.

In addition to the career fair events, there will also be four more Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion networking events held throughout the fall semester. Students who attend these events will have the opportunity to learn more about each company, their hiring needs, and diversity initiatives.

The DEI events are one hour long on a Thursday afternoon from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. Instead of meeting with students one on one, employers will host three 20-minute group sessions for students online. This format allows students to select three sessions to attend during each DEI event.

As Elon students prepare for these events the SPDC advisors are ready and available to help students with resume reviews and answer other questions.  Advisors take express 15-minute drop-in appointments from 10-4 pm M-TH on a first-come, first-served basis.
