Fergie Philippe ’17 featured in ‘Hamilton’ cast’s ‘When We All Vote’ video

The video is part of the effort by the When We All Vote organization to encourage voter participation.

Music theatre alumnus Fergie Philippe ’17 is lending a rhyme to a “Hamilton” cast video encouraging voter participation among young Americans.

Philippe is one of about a dozen cast members featured alongside “Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda and former First Lady Michelle Obama. Miranda and Obama are co-founders of the When We All Vote organization.

Reworking several of the musical’s most recognizable songs, “When We All Vote” incorporates voter registration and vote-by-mail information.

“You registered to vote? It’s easy friend / Only takes a few minutes from the start to the end,” Philippe raps.

Philippe was named one of Elon’s Top 10 under 10 alumni in February.

He played the roles of Hercules Mulligan and James Madison in the musical’s first national tour beginning in 2017 and continued in that role on Broadway until the theater industry’s shutdown this spring. Philippe is also a writer, dabbling mostly in screenwriting and poetry, and hopes to produce his works through a his production company “Et Toi Productions.”
