Career Center hosts job shadowing high school students

The Elon Career Center practiced what it preaches Nov. 11 by hosting two Southern Alamance High School students during their Job Shadow Day.

Southern High English teacher Lynn Bare-Hester and career development coordinator Judy Harrington sent Brandi Haithcock and Jessica Pittman to explore counseling careers with the staff at the Elon Career Center. They observed several counseling sessions with Elon students and sat in on a career class taught by Jim Allison, leaving with a better understanding of counseling career opportunities.

Career Center counselors often advise Elon students to shadow professionals in their career field of interest and welcomed the opportunity to participate in the Southern High School Job Shadow Day.
