The assistant professor of management was recognized for the quality and timeliness of his contributions as a journal reviewer.
David Jiang, assistant professor of management in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, received Family Business Review’s 2020 Outstanding Reviewer Award from the Family Firm Institute.
Each year, the Family Business Review editor and associate editors select one reviewer who excelled in his or her reviewing for FBR in the previous year, highlighting the importance of reviewers in the development and publication of scholarly research. Evaluating criteria includes the quality of reviews, timeliness, and number of reviews accomplished.
Tony-nominated Broadway producer Jessica Genick and Resource Management President and CEO Randy Waesche presented the award during the Family Firm Institute’s annual conference, held virtually Oct. 26-28.
Published by SAGE, Family Business Review is the leading scholarly journal devoted exclusively to family-controlled enterprises. The journal explores the dynamics of family-controlled enterprise, including firms ranging in size from the very large to the relatively small.
Before joining Elon in August 2020, Jiang was an assistant professor of entrepreneurship at Georgia Southern University’s Parker College of Business.
Jiang received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee. He serves on the editorial boards of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice and Family Business Review. His research applies psychological and sociological approaches to understand unique entrepreneurship and family business phenomena.
