Bullock Serves on two Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation Standards Taskforces

The taskforces looked at the standards for educator preparation and at creating a revised workbook.

In spring 2020, Ann Bullock, dean and professor of education, was appointed to the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) Revised Standards Taskforce, representing private schools nationally.

The charge of this taskforce was to revise the initial standards for educator preparation that will go into effect in spring 2022. The revised standards were reviewed by the field and adopted by the CAEP Accreditation Council during late fall 2020.

After the adoption of the standards, Dean Bullock was invited to join a second Taskforce whose goal was to create a revised workbook. The Revised Standards Workbook Taskforce worked through the winter and spring to complete this task. Bullock discussed the implementation of the revised standards and workbook at Elon during an invited presentation at the Spring CAEPCON conference last week. The CAEP revised standards and workbook will both go into effect spring 2022, which coincides with Elon’s next on-site CAEP visit.
