Faculty promotions approved

The Elon College Board of Trustees approved promotions for five faculty members during its March 14-15 meeting. Details...

Brian Digre, who has been a member of the history department since 1990, was promoted to full professor. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley and master’s and doctoral degrees from George Washington University.

Rosemary Haskell, who has been a member of the English department since 1985, was promoted to full professor. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Durham in England, a master’s degree from Clark University and a doctorate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

R. Clyde Ellis, who has been at the college since 1995, was promoted to associate professor of history. He has a bachelor’s degree from Lenoir-Rhyne College, a master’s degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a doctorate from the Oklahoma State University.

Mary Jo Festle, who has been at the college since 1993, was promoted to associate professor of history. She has a bachelor’s degree from Knox College and master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Laura Roselle Helvey, who has been at the college since 1993, was promoted to associate professor of political science. She has a bachelor’s degree from Emory University and master’s and doctoral degrees from Stanford University.
