The deadline for picking up two guest tickets for the 2021 Commencement ceremonies is Tuesday, May 11, at 5 p.m.
Guest tickets for Elon’s 131st Undergraduate Commencement to be held on Friday, May 21, are now available for members of the graduating class to pick up. In light of COVID-19 health regulations, graduating seniors will be allotted two guest tickets, allowing the university to comply with state and local limits on crowd sizes.
The deadline for members of the Class of 2021 to pick up their two guest tickets is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11.
The two guest tickets are for seats assigned in pairs. Tickets will be coded for each individual ceremony and may not be used for other ceremonies.
Tickets will be distributed at the Schar Center Box Office at the following times:
- Wednesday-Friday, May 5-7, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, May 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Monday-Tuesday, May 10-11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Graduates must bring their Phoenix Card and may only pick up their own guest tickets. Each graduate is responsible for picking up their tickets and ensuring that the tickets are in the possession of guests who will attend the ceremony.
NOTE: Graduates who are enrolled remotely this semester or who completed their studies earlier this year should email commencement@elon.edu to request assistance in obtaining guest tickets.
Ceremony Details
Graduates and their guests are assigned to attend one of the three ceremonies in Schar Center as follows. Ceremonies will run approximately 90 minutes.
9 a.m. Ceremony
- Graduates of the Love School of Business
Doors will open at 8:15 a.m.
1 p.m. Ceremony
- Graduates of Elon College, The College of Arts & Sciences, with degrees in:
- Arts & Humanities
- Graduates of the School of Communications
- Graduates of the School of Education
Doors will open at 12:15 p.m.
5 p.m. Ceremony
- Graduates of Elon College, The College of Arts & Sciences, with degrees in:
- Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science
- Engineering
- Natural and Social Sciences
Doors will open at 4:15 p.m.
Graduates and families may verify primary major and corresponding ceremony time by referring to the Graduation Candidates List. Graduates with multiple majors are assigned to the ceremony corresponding to their primary major. Students must attend the ceremony to which they are assigned in order to receive their diploma.
Remote Viewing
All commencement ceremonies will be shown as they occur on the university website at www.elon.edu/live. Guests without tickets to the Diploma Ceremonies in Schar Center can watch a live broadcast of those ceremonies in Alumni Gymnasium in Koury Athletic Center and the Great Hall in the Global Neighborhood Commons.
