Elon students win regional fitness contest

Mike Hazel and Jacob Downs teamed to post the top score among 100 North Carolina competitors at the Target Training and Fitness regional challenge on April 7 in Chapel Hill.

Hazel and Downs competed in a variety of speed, agility and quickness drills, tug-of-war and a team indoor rowing relay. They were also graded on their performance in the standing long jump, sit-ups and a flexibility assessment.

Colleges and universities from across North Carolina entered participants in the regional contest. Hazel and Downs represented Elon Campus Recreation in the competition.
